Le Fresnoy – National Studio, partner of ‘Chanel’s 7 à 9’ at the Jeu de Paume. A conversation with Clément Cogitore, hosted by Ysé Sorel

Monday 16 March 2026, 7.00–9.00 pm
For this seventh event, CHANEL and the Jeu de Paume welcome Clément Cogitore. Ysé Sorel, a student at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, a partner institution for this event, will be in conversation with Clément Cogitore.

In a series of discussions led by students, internationally renowned artists are invited to explore the representation of beauty in the visual arts. For this seventh event, CHANEL and the Jeu de Paume welcome Clément Cogitore.

Situated at the crossroads of contemporary art and cinema, his work explores the way in which art influences the viewer’s psyche. He examines the ways in which we see, narrate and live with and through images. The artist demonstrates how visual representations shape our perspective and our desires, and reveals a beauty that may well be artificial. Through a blend of voices, sounds and shots, he creates a sensory and hypnotic experience, paying particular attention to themes of ritual, collective memory and the representation of the sacred.

Ysé Sorel, a student at Le Fresnoy – Studio national, will be in conversation with Clément Cogitore, an artist who also graduated from Le Fresnoy in 2008.
