Call for projects | Sound residency 2026-2027 Musée du Quai Branly & Le Fresnoy – Studio national

The Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac is launching a call for projects for the new edition of its sound residency in partnership with Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. Deadline for submitting applications: 18 January 2026 at midnight (Paris time).

The Sound Residency at the musée du Branly – Jacques Chirac is exclusively open to artists from one of the four continents represented in the museum’s collections: Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. Artists from these geographic areas (including French overseas departments and territories) or those holding dual nationality are eligible to apply. There is no age limit for applicants. The work produced during the residency must be designed in connection with the museum’s collections, issues, themes and spaces.

The winning project will be selected in spring 2026 by an international jury comprising various figures from the world of sound and audiovisual creation. The museum will award the selected artist a grant of €8,000 and will also finance the production of the sound work, which will be presented to the public and may be added to the museum’s collections.
