Two boys meet by the side of the road. A strange desire prompts them to set off through the volcanic landscapes of Auvergne together, as if on a huge treasure hunts. To explore the mysteries of the mountains, they tell each other old stories of condemned witches, secret spells, forgotten Sabbaths. Haunted by these tales, they gradually became protagonists, until these adventures spill over into their present encounter.
