Returning to his mother’s house after her death, Amaël reconnects with his past. An encounter with a neighbour and mysterious ghostly presences stir up buried memories.
Adieu les monstres is a fiction film that explores spaces of solitude inhabited by hallucinations, where different stories of life and hope collide and intertwine, against a backdrop of phosphorescent wild boars.
Born in Les Lilas, in 2000 Enzo Pernet lives and works between Paris and Roubaix. A student at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, a graduate of the Hear (Haute école des arts du Rhin) in Strasbourg and a resident at Doc! in Paris, his practice explores the intersection of cinema, video and installation. His work explores territories that seem innocuous (the everyday, the trivial, the societal) yet are the setting of intimate dramas: characters lost in labyrinths of emotion, in perpetual search of another person or of something capable of overcoming a latent loneliness. His work has been exhibited at Hangar Y, the Petit Palais éphémère, Crac 19, Askip in Nantes, and La Chaufferie, the Hear gallery in Strasbourg.
