King of Cyborg Elephant - Film - 15min - 2025

présenté dans le cadre de l'exposition Panorama 27 - Simultaneité

The film opens in a shadowy museum, where dim, mysterious light reveals a collection chronicling the rich and complex history of elephants in Thailand. A film crew arrives to shoot an interview with an elephant that, through magical means, can speak. The elephant begins recounting the collective memories of its kind, spanning from the time before the birth of Buddha to the Elephant of Bastille, the 19th-century war between France and Prussia, and the night before Thailand’s revolution in 1932. But as the stories unfold, the weight of these memories overwhelms the elephant, leaving it visibly distressed. Hoping to provide comfort, the crew softly sings an elephant song, เพลงช้าง Thai traditional song, the melody calms the elephant, lulling it into a peaceful sleep.
