Leo, 9, is a little French boy of Chinese origin. At his grandmother’s Chinese funeral, he learns for the first time about the culture of his ancestors through traditional funeral rites. Leo gradually comes to realise the importance of the ceremony he is taking part in.

Born in Paris in 2000, Emma Huang is a French artist and filmmaker of Chinese origin. A 2024 graduate of the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy, she likes to draw on her personal experiences to tell stories of families with Chinese immigrant backgrounds in France. Since 2023, her artistic research has focused on the relationship between immigrants and death, intergenerational family relationships and filial piety.
