Somewhere in the North of France, embryonic plots are hatched and fade almost as soon as they appear. The window of a train becomes a projection screen, filled with thoughts, reminiscences and subliminal apparitions. A narrative structure takes shape from what could be a matter of chance.
This landscape, which resembles a memory, conceals a drama in the face of which we remain powerless, as we too are carried away by the passage of time. As in some of Poussin’s paintings, human distress is only a detail in a picture that goes beyond it – where the world blindly follows its course – and makes us feel how ordinary, and therefore unbearable, this violence is.
Born in Reims in 1989. After studying at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg, he moved to Paris where he was involved in several theatre projects: with the company Le Dispariteur, at the Ménagerie de Verre and the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, and with the L’Heure du rat company, at Lafayette Anticipations. At the same time, he made films, photographs and drawings and had the opportunity to feature in various exhibitions, notably at Pauline Perplexe (Arcueil) and Galerie Stéphanie Kelly (Dresden).
