The Bastide du Bois has many entry points. Old doors and window frames are all that remain to imagine it by. There is no longer any real border between it and the northern slopes of the Luberon where it lies. Soon, these entry points will fall down of their own accord, as will the other walls and roofs that used to stand around them.
It is the natural movement of things to return to the earth.
But anyone who ventures inside these frames can still see the trails of passing wild animals, hear the echoes of the surrounding valley and read the traces of the last inhabitants, like the motifs of a portrait to be noted down while there is still time.
Syntonie d’une ruine attempts to do this through the encounters that the Bastide still brings about, through the silent winter that sees the birth of the lambs in the neighbouring sheepfold, and through the endless cycle of mutating bodies.

Norman Nedellec

Born in 1994, Norman Nedellec is an artist and filmmaker. His work is situated on the cusp of visual arts and cinema, where his peasant origins lie dormant as a starting point. Through this particular dialogue with the non-human, his productions are based on the construction of a landscape that is at once documentary, intimate tale and fable. He has shown his films and videos and exhibited his work at Vidéodrome2, Centre d'Art du Creux de l'Enfer, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Vidéochroniques, etc.
