Corps sonore - Installation - 2026

Installation
Corps sonore is a sculptural-architectural work in which sound, matter and light are conceived as a single entity. The installation gives sound a physical presence by exploring the idea of a “sound skin”: a living material, permeated by internal vibrations. In perpetual motion, the sound moves, transforms and escapes. How can it be made tangible? How can it be given a form, a texture, light? The installation offers an answer by bringing these elements together in a unified sensory experience.
Inspired by a beehive frame, the installation is rooted in a family heritage. My father, a beekeeper, passed on to me this relationship with the living world. Each form echoes the structure of this object and seems to be inhabited. The sound composition oscillates between organ notes and the buzzing of bees, punctuated by breaths.
The installation makes perceptible the richness and vulnerability of coexistence between living beings, the relationships between an individual and their environment, as well as the subtle presence of the species and materials that populate the air. By creating a hybrid environment, the work allows us to sense interactions that are often invisible, inviting us to become involved with our bodies, shift our perceptions and relate to our surroundings in a new way. It calls for renewed attention to the fragility and beauty of the living environments we inhabit.
Born in France in 1998, Lise Lebleux is a sound artist trained at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. Her research seeks to give form to sound, exploring its shapes in space and the way it passes through us and resonates within our physical bodies. She interrogates our relation to listening and invites us to experience immersive and vivid sensory encounters. Her work takes the form of sound installations, such as *Ces lieux d’à côté* at the Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof in Hamburg (Germany), as well as *Sounds on the Valley*– *Klänge des Tals*in Bad Ischl (Austria) as part of the European Capital of Culture programme in 2024. She is also the composer of a radio play, *Stille in drei Akten*, commissioned by Kunstradio in Vienna (Austria).
