I found this cassette at the bottom of a box. My sister used to film on it when we were little, in my father’s flat. I have no memory of that time. But as soon as I watch it, I get ill; I get an angry rash on my skin, with blotches all over my body. I’ve never understood why.
Not long ago, I started looking for other people who have skin conditions, in the hope of perhaps finding some answers.

Born in Clichy in 2001, Ferdinand Ledoux lives and works in Paris. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy, his practice combines video, writing and storytelling, particularly through the possibilities opened up by video games. Currently in his first year at Le Fresnoy–Studio national des arts contemporains, he is working on his first documentary film exploring the links between dermatology and personal history.
