Installation

Écouter l'audio

Fluid Synthis an installation made up of glass and ceramic pieces from which sound is produced and amplified by the action of air and water. Part archaeological fragment, part sound laboratory, the work explores the close links between science and craft in instrument-making. This approach involved several collaborations: with Lana Ruellan and Richard Colin for the ceramics, and with Ludovic Petit, a specialist in scientific glassmaking. Inspired by ancient instruments and scientific experiments, these objects meet and interact in the installation as a result of phenomena of vibration and transduction, bringing into play different types of forces as methods of composition, whether thermal, fluid, acoustic or algorithmic.
