La Construcción de un Árbol - Installation - 2023

présentée dans le cadre de l'exposition Panorama 25

Installation

La Construcción de un Árbol explores the continuities between visual objectification and the instrumentalisation of the world, and the latter's relationship to measurement in the West. The project is a dialogue between an archive photo taken in the incipient eucalyptus monoculture plantations in Chile and a video made with scanners, as measurement-based system of image construction, that transforms space and time into data in order to control them.

Ana Edwards

Ana Edwards studied visual arts in Chile. In 2019 she completed an MA in Visual Anthropology in the UK. Combining ethno- graphic processes with the evocative and sensory powers of the audiovisual, her work explores diverse ecologies and ways of inhabiting the world, systems of relationships between beings and their environment. She is interested in the notions of nature and culture as they transform and shape each other in symbolic and material ways.
