Bernadette, We are on February 15 and i still can't give any news regarding the development of my project. i am still looking for a solution so the sewing machine will work alone and am soon to meet the head of department at the CHRU in Lille in order to know if it is possible to record my mother's encephalogram. Before, i used to see her concentrated behind her sewing machine. Sewing was like the silent thread of her thoughts which i then wore on my clothes. Since we arrived in Normandy in 1995, she has abandoned sewing. today, the eldest of her four daughters, i use her sewing machine, but i am afraid it won't last the duration of the exhibition. B. [..] 3 April My mother went back to hospital only a few hours ago. i still feel affected from seeing her with this electrodes stuck to her head. Sitting by her side, i was able to follow the trace of her encephalogram on the screen. Whilst she had her eyes shut, i asked her to remember or to think about family photos that i showed her one by one. i like it when she is deep in thought. the diagram is regular. i shall sew these moments. Soon i will write you more. i think i have finally found the sewing machine! B.
