Firstly, the observation of an aesthetic quality specific to compulsive movement. In deed, the latter, with its cyclic and stereotyped aspect, seems to possess certain affinities with the danced gesture, in its widest sense.
However, Ordinary Compulsions is not meant to be a “dance video”, nor a documentary on the compulsive gesture but rather a poetic vision of the latter, in the form of a fiction based on first hand and personal experience. A history of gestures, familiar and ordinary, but also worrying, strangely worrying.
