Under the land of Pas-de-Calais, geologists are exploring old mining galleries. Equipped with a 3D scanner, they are gradually digitising the walls of these galleries, which are steeped in history.

Alexandre Cornet

After studying physics and politics, Alexandre Cornet trained in cinema and the visual arts at the Sorbonne School of Arts and the Lussas Documentary School before joining Le Fresnoy -- Studio national des arts contemporains. Informed by his scientific and artistic background, his documentary approach critically questions our relationship with technology, work and nature. By confronting real footage and images from operations, he also questions the ambiguity of forms in his editing, as well as the narrative power of scientific and technological imaginations.
