Maternité is a film about the tiredness of a mother with two small children. The heroine is in a state of physical and emotional exhaustion and lacks the resources to function correctly, and as a result her organism clearly begins to descend into madness.

Nataliya Ilchuk was born in Lviv on 14 November 1985. She studied film in Kyiv and Warsaw, and worked as a programmer for short films festivals in Ukraine, before moving to France to study contemporary art at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains.
