La vanité des ecchymoses - Installation de Marikel Lahana
La vanité des ecchymoses
De Marikel Lahana, installation 2009
La vanité des ecchymoses is a series of portraits installed as a sequences of images which evoke imprisonment, stifling, the state of loss of human relations. The people in the portraits are framed alone but the images however are not autonomous, they create a dialogue with one another in the series. My photography is grainy and resonant. this graininess gives an image which is almost blurred, difficult to see precisely from a distance. Simone is confronted with the loss of her husband, with the loneliness that comes from this and the anxiety of her own disappearance. Deep in the night of bright light, she plays on the fading of the visible. Philippe knows that he does not "know everything that he knows." Schizophrenic and paranoid, he has been shut away all his life: in a hospital for 30 years and now he lives in a retirement home in a twenty square metre room. After a life walled up, an illusion of freedom... Free from photography capturing the now, my photography is a staging of what is felt. i try to capture in each person his difficulty of being. the body itself captures our attention and structures the visible, offering to our view the "indelible perfection of the personal accident."
