David Burrows

David Burrows is a multi-platform artist. His portfolio of activities includes drawing, photography, filmmaking, performance and multi-media installation. He graduated in 1997 from the John Bolton School of Physical Theatre (a school in the Lecoq tradition), and then completed a post-graduate certificate in Fine Art (Art in Public Spaces) at RMIT University in 1998. He has worked with the Australian outdoor theatre company STRANGE FRUIT since late 1999 in a variety of creative roles; performer, visual/storyboard artist and deviser. He is widely travelled. He was awarded a Besen Family Travelling Scholarship in 2005 and the Ian Potter Cultural Fund Grant in 2006. In 2006 David undertook his first official Artist in Residency program through the CRAC de Valence, France, which resulted in the creation of and exhibition of THE MIRAGE PROJECT; an audio-visual installation utilising stereoscopic photography.
